6 Reasons You NEED a Business Website:

Yes, we know that you have heard this before but we’re serious about this guys; your business really needs a website. Here’s why…

1. Because people expect it

The other day I was looking for a place to have a birthday party, and of course I did a Google search and found a few places that might work. I was pretty intrigued by one business so I looked to click on their business website to find more information. I was pretty bummed to see they didn’t have a website, so I moved on. People these days expect businesses to have a website- plain and simple.

2. Because it helps legitimize your business

Nowadays, anyone can start a business. While this is a good thing, it can also be a bad thing when you are the consumer. Trying to find the best specialty bakery near me, for example, can be a challenge if you do a search and find a bunch of listings, none of which you are familiar. If one of those had a website, which one are you going to think has their stuff together? The one with the website, of course.

3. Because you can tell your own story

Having a website allows you to showcase your brand and your style. If you have a modern, simplistic website design, your customer is going to think you have a modern, contemporary style. If you have a colorful, artistic website, your customer is going to think you are creative and eclectic. You get my drift. If you have your own website, you have a platform to showcase your business’ story. Sharing an old picture of your grandma while sharing how you use many of her recipes in your restaurant, gives the reader a visual of how good the food is and how you are different from the Olive Garden down the street (no offence to Olive Garden or anything)

4. Because you don’t own your social media pages

Ever wonder about the algorithm Facebook uses to display the posts we post? Why do some posts show up for some users and are buried for others? Ever wonder what would happen if Facebook started charging businesses for their business pages? What if they were hacked and lost your page forever? All your data, posts, and information gone. That is what I mean when I say you don’t own your social media pages. Relying on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms alone is not ideal. Paring your business’ social media with your own website is a good way to cover your bases and make sure you are utilizing all the resources available to you. It is also the only way to make sure your content is seen (and backed up) whether Facebook likes it or not.

5. Your website is open 24 hours a day/7 days a week

The good thing about a website is its always open. It doesn’t close when your son has state track qualifiers forty minutes away and you need to close the doors early to make sure you see it. Or at one in the morning when you’re still sleeping and your customer that works second shift needs to make an appointment with you. Your website is there, kicking ass and taking names (in a good way). Good ol’ website is always open and showing up for you even if Nana is in the hospital.

6. It will help you attract new customers

According to American Innovators.com, online tools and technology have the highest potential impact on rural small businesses with revenue under $100,000. That means if you don’t have a website, you are missing out on the highest potential for impact on your business. Don’t let the opportunity to make a new customer slip away, find a way to get a website for your business created today. If you need help, All(n) Designs can get you started. Contact us today!
